Trinkets (referred to in-game as Shiny Trinkets) are shiny, coin-like collectibles that unlock music tracks in the Jukebox. There are twenty trinkets scattered about in-game, both within levels and the overworld. If Viridian collects all of the trinkets in the game and talks to Victoria, a cutscene plays and the Secret Lab is unlocked.

Locations/rooms[]

Space Station 1[]

  • It's a Secret to Nobody
    • Offshoot from the Atmospheric Filter.
  • Trench Warfare
    • Below the Yes-Men, go right instead of down. You must use the moving platform on the roof.
DTTHW

Veni Vidi Vici in its entirety, spanning 7 rooms.

Space Station 2[]

  • One Way Room
    • Off from the room with the platform bridge moving up and down. Take the low road.
  • You Chose Poorly (commonly referred to as Gordian Knot)
    • Take the high road this time.
  • Clarion Call
    • You can see the trinket.
  • Doing Things the Hard Way (DTTHW for short, commonly referred to as Veni Vidi Vici)
    • Head up, weaving through the obstacle course, and then use the platform at the end to bounce back. The hardest one in the game.
  • Prize for the Reckless
    • Make it through the three rooms to the left with out touching a single checkpoint. Then, break the platform, die, and come back at the bottom.

Warp Zone[]

  • Edge Games
    • Zig-Zag between the Pac-Men.

The Tower[]

  • The Tower x2
    • The first one is obvious when you see it, but for the second, you will have to skillfully use the notches on the wall to reach the floor, then carefully flip into the hole at the right edge.

The Laboratory[]

  • Unnamed Cavern
    • Offshoot of Entanglement Generator.
  • Purest Unobtanium
    • Break out of the path at I'm Sorry, then run to the right.
  • Young Man, It's Worth the Challenge
    • Weave around the room.
  • The Tantalizing Trinket
    • Head up at Standing Wave.

The Final Level[]

  • V
    • This one is fed to you. You can't not get it.

The Overworld (Dimension VVVVVV)[]

  1. Various Areas
    1. Found at the left of the labyrinth in-between the path to the Warp Zone.
    2. Found at the edge of the map, crossing the crease where it wraps over.
    3. A small tunnel, near the one leading to the Laboratory.
    4. (Can't remember)

Either Vitellary or Victoria, based on the order in which you beat their levels, hands one trinket to the player.

Trivia[]

  • The Prize for the Reckless challenge requires having the player die to obtain the trinket. Because of that, in No Death Mode and Time Trials, the room has the spikes removed and is renamed, "Imagine Spikes there, if You Like" and "I Can't Believe You Got This Far" in No Death Mode.
  • Only twenty trinkets can be placed in a custom map, the same as there are in the main game.
  • The Tower is the only room to contain more than one trinket.
  • There are actually only eighteen trinkets in Dimension VVVVVV, as one has to be obtained by talking to Vitellary/Victoria, and the other is in the final level.
  • The trinket located in Doing Things the Hard Way is the only trinket to have seven rooms dedicated just to it, the most of any in the game.
  • The same trinket is considered the hardest in the game, often by far. Players have spent countless hours trying to complete the challenge.
  • The name "Veni Vidi Vici" is most likely a reference to the 1985 Novel 'Ender's Game' by Orson Scott Card. It is the name of Chapter 11 in the book.
